It has become widely perceived phenomenon that George Bush doesn’t like growth in Middle East to make US currency strongest in the world. After Iraq, Iran is said to be the next target (if we believe some news reports). One can imagine how Iranians would react if they see any American living in their own country.
Yes… I am feeling the same what u can feel while sitting in any other part of the world. I am the US citizen and living in Iran since some 40 years from now. I have seen how this country has transformed itself from a US-ally to an enemy nation for the US administration.
I was married to a businessman in Iran and moved to Tehran in late 50s. The situation changed dramatically when Iran entered into the deprivations of its 8-year war with Iraq just after Islamic revolution of 1979. We faced major financial crisis and other critical situation during this period.
Earlier in 50s and 60s, we were respectable foreigners in the country but suddenly people’s attitude changed towards us. It was the time when Iran was changing itself from a US-allied monarchy to the Islamic country. Later, the Islamic state called United States as the ‘Great Satan.
Now, I live alone in my simple brick home and darkness of the nights is my friends and kin. I am absolutely not in favor of US policy applied to the countries in Middle East. If US go ‘strike’ route to Iran to stop the nuclear program in the country, it will prove as another disaster for US administration for sure.
It will be another disaster-like situation for the whole region and it will have its impact on rest of the world for sure. I am an American and I suggest US administration not to go this way, otherwise they will have no way to go back.
Several of my relatives cry for me and ask why am I still living in Iran, an enemy country? Some of them called me crazy for my decision but I have no regrets about living in Iran and I would not leave the country willingly or unwillingly. I have no feeling now that I am still an American. I have made a group of friends here who support me in my bad days. I don’t want to go to US to live alone like hell.
I can easily recall even with my open eyes how an Iraqi missile engine crashed through the roof of my house in the capital during the 1980-88 Iran-Iraq war. It had exploded nearby area where I was living during those days.
Bombs were coming down like hell all over the area. Her family members became victim of anti-Americanism in Iran, several relatives fled from Iran, and several Americans were said to be executed. We spent many days without food and sold jewelry to survive in such condition. I lived two lives at one time during those days.
Now, the US policy towards Iran is making condition for me and other people like me worse. I have a message for the US administration: live and let others live in peace and harmony. It will be better for the whole humanity.
The mad dog Khomeini who fortunately died and his rabid cleric followers who are running the terror sponsoring state deserve world rebuke, isolation and merciless punishment.
